There is no denying that the use of mobile devices has increased dramatically in recent years. More and more people have smartphones and they want to access the Internet on the go. Recent studies show that mobile Internet use is expected to grow by 40 percent by 2015.

Given the lower pricing, ease of use, the apps available and the improving networks, businesses need a strong presence on the mobile Web. Internationally many people access the Web for the first time via a phone.

Mobile Growth Trends

Mobile marketing firm IDC has estimated that the usage of smart phones and tablets will increase by as much 16 percent each year from 2012 to 2016 with a growth of more than 40% by 2015. During that time, nearly another .5 billion people worldwide will gain some form of access to the worldwide web reaching more than 2.7 billion users.

As more people begin to use their Internet-enabled smartphones and tablets to surf the web, the use of desktop computers and wired connections will see a decrease. While these may still have a place in the home or office, they may cease to be the primary source for Internet browsing.

Mobile phone companies around the world are increasing their access points and the speed of their networks, shrinking the difference in performance between a home connection and mobile Internet. Smartphones are also increasingly offering better resolution and features without an increase in price.

Easy Access

There is no doubt that the public-at-large are highly reliant upon the Internet, whether for duties relating to work, for entertainment, or for quick information. One of the biggest selling points for mobile Internet is the ease of access and portability. There is no need to be in a wifi hotspot–although many smart phones and tablets can access the Internet through wifi–or to be connected to a modem in any way. And with a mobile device, whether you are at the pool, at the ball game, or out of town, you can still be online.

Then, there are the apps. A browse through the various app stores online will show that there practically is an app for everything. These applications may do something as minor as playing a funny noise or simulating a guitar. Others provide GPS turn-by-turn directions or access reference materials for a business or university.

Some can even be used as classroom companions to enhance students’ learning. Many of the most popular apps, however, are actually games specially designed for play on a smart phone or tablet. Research shows that apps are how the majority of users access programs and the Web with smartphones.

What Does it Mean for Business?

Not only will the rise in mobile mean a greater focus on mobile networks for the various companies and their customers, but it will mean a shift in how the Internet looks and operates. More websites and software will begin to tailor themselves to the mobile market rather than just traditional computers and laptops and the number and types of apps that will be available will only increase, as will the speed and capacity of the devices used to run them.

As mobile Internet use increases and the capabilities of smartphones and tablets grow, it is difficult to predict just what changes will be in store for the web, but they certainly will be coming and will change how we view the Internet. If your business’ website is not mobile ready and optimized for smaller browser windows, it’s time to get busy preparing and planning for the future.

Everyone must admit that some Google services are, quite frankly, not that they used to be a few years ago. There is a tendency to trying find something different, but only few people know how to manage such attempt. Let’s talk about 10 Google services which could be exactly easily refused.

1. Gmail

Everyone knows and likes this email system – it is easy to use and gives a lot of storage space for free. But how long it’s been since the Gmail held leading positions on the mail market? In a changing world there are a lot of worthy alternatives which offer conditions not worse than Gmail.

Try to use Hotmail or Yahoo! Mail – you will hardly see the difference!

2. Google Talk

Google talk doesn’t held leading positions neither in the VoIP space nor in IM. There are a lot of disadvantages of Google Talk which you will never face at Skype.

3. Google Search

There is nothing you can find with the Google Search that you can’t find with a lot of others search engines. Except for a lot of adult entertainment, of course – Google search is the favorite place for spammers and scammers. Besides, numerous investigations have shown that Google’s search quality is not mach better than other engines. So feel free to use some other alternatives.

4. Google Docs

What a lot of people really do like about Google services is Google Docs! But you don’t have to focus on it – that will be really easy to find a good alternative such as Microsoft Office Online. And if you prefer free apps (that happens) – the Internet has a nice surprise for you in the form of LibreOffice or AbiWord. And what is really pleasant – Google Docs has functions which will help you to transfer all the documents into any other docs app.

5. Picasa

Transferring your data from Picasa to another graphic service is going to be much more difficult as with Google Docs, but it is still feasibly. And if you worry about some functions you will not find in another photo service – be sure you will.

6. Google Maps

Mapping services is really widespread so you are not going to face the problem if decided to replace Google Maps with something different.

7. Google Checkout

This payment system doesn’t have a lot of fans or fellows and that is a really slight chance that you have Google Checkout account. But if you do – we would like to inform you there are some different payment systems such as PayPal or Amazon Payments which are much used all over the world.

8. Android

Being one of the favorite mobile platform both for developers and users, Android still has three alternatives: Windows Phone 7, iOS and BlackBerry. Try one of them and feel the difference. Or try all of them and feel the advantages of mobile fragmentation!

9. Google Reader

This kind of news reader is not the strong point of Google services and a lot of other readers have even more functions than Google Reader has. That’s why it is reasonable to convert all your subscriptions into OPML format and get it into another news service.

10. Blogger

You can find both paid and free blogging systems to replace the Google service. For example draw your attention into WordPress – a powerful application which you can install on your server to be in complete control of you data.

We have just described 10 Google services you can easily replace with other products. Anyway, there are some applications and services which are “must-use” and are really hard to be replaced. Yes, we are talking about YouTube, Google+ and AdWords. And if the two latter services are must-use only for companies and content-producers, YouTube is really essential for everyone who uses the Internet.

The year 2012 has proven to be, and continues to prove to be, the year of companies expanding their business into data centers. According to a recent survey done by Digital Realty Trust, 43% of businesses say that they plan to expand in 2012, and 44% are planning for expansion in 2013. This survey was conducted via the Internet in early 2012, and it spoke to IT decision makers from all across North America. Of these respondents who said they had plans to expand, 78% said they planned to do so with a partner.

If you are in the majority of North American businesses planning to expand your operations and partner with a digital company, here are a few tips to help guide you when deciding how to choose your best partner.

Choose a prime location

California, Texas, Chicago and NY data centers are some of the most sought after locations for expansion. In fact, only 65% of companies prefer their home city.

Decide if co-location is right for you

Colocation is where you can store your servers on site at the center. If your company is based in San Francisco and requires a close proximity to your servers and data, look for a San Francisco data center. This way, you are never too far away from your new servers.

Interview potential partners

Don’t be afraid to ask the tough questions when talking to a potential partner. They will be held responsible for handling some of the most powerful tools to help your business grow, so it is important to ask all of your questions up front.

Do your due diligence

Research firms are another great resource to help businesses find the right company for their expansion. These firms have the ability to do an in-depth analysis of various security measures, server management and maintenance and operational reliability. Their findings can either reaffirm what the prospect told you or prove otherwise. Either way, it is better to find out up front.

No matter which partner you choose for your business’s expansion, doing due diligence and conducting interviews to find out key intelligence is crucial. Choosing the right partner can make your business stronger, but choosing the wrong one can be detrimental to your success. Don’t be afraid to ask the questions necessary to find out if they are a good fit for your business model before trusting your company’s valuable knowledge to their servers.

To many people, writing is nothing more than putting pen to paper, but to Mike, it’s what he does best. His favorite subject happens to be technology.

When we think of tablet computing as it was before Apple brought us the iPad, most of us probably remember the thick and clunky laptops with removable lcd displays, or ones that could be unhinged and shifted or folder over to present a touch surface that could be used with a stylus. They were huge and heavy, essentially full sized laptops that simply allowed you to write on the screen if you needed to. These first generation Microsoft Tablet PCs were powered by a slightly modified version of its Windows XP operating system called Windows XP Tablet Edition, which enabled touch screen features and the use of a special pen for handwriting. Bill Gates predicted as early as 2000 that tablets were the way of the future of personal computing, and Microsoft, which had failed to catch on to so many other waves (social networking, Internet services, and even the browser market) seemed poised to blaze a trail into the next era. Why, then, did ten years pass with no further development? Why did Microsoft allow Apple reign victorious in 2010 with the truly innovative iPad tablet ?

By all rights, Microsoft should have gotten the glory for bringing tablet computers into the hands of millions of people worldwide. It had a head start spanning an entire decade to bring the technology to life. Instead, Microsoft revealed its hand too early in the game. The overall idea of a tablet PC failed because of poorly executed hardware and software designs. They appealed only to a limited audience, were impractical, and had almost nothing beyond novelty to offer the average consumer. There was no “experience,” and no branded concept of a “digital life.”

It was Apple that finally introduced the all encompassing experience: sleek product design, iTunes and cloud based hubs for music and video management, the inclusion of a proprietary e-book platform, and an operating system already mature from years of fine tuning and widespread use on iPhones. By the time iPad arrived, its early adopters were already well familiar with its interface. The learning curve was small. The device was magnificent in almost every way. But few people remember these words from Steve Jobs in 2003, in response to a question from Walt Mossberg as to whether Apple should be making a tablet:

“There are no plans to make a tablet. It turns out people want keyboards. We look at the tablet and we think it is going to fail. Tablets appeal to rich guys with plenty of other PCs and devices already.”

Jobs was either playing his cards close to his vest, or really believed what he was saying at the time. Either way, it is evident that the concept caught his attention and kept it, and now, Apple rules the world.

iPhone apps have the potential to be everything from practical to plain fun. The boom in the app market over the past few years has seen an app emerge for virtually everything, albeit with some that probably shouldn’t have ever been considered. Easy to download and install, iPhone users can benefit from particular apps that easily blend into everyday lives and tasks. The most successful of these are typically ones that promote interactivity with an online site, or provide invaluable data storage and communications facilities. Others are just fun to use when you need to kill a bit of time. The following list represents, in no particular order, some must have apps:

1 – Angry Birds Space

If you aren’t an Angry Birds fan already, you probably should be. The game can suck up huge amounts of your time without ever feeling too repetitive. The newest version of the game takes the shooting action into space, and will provide hours of productive time for iPhone users who have exhausted the previous installment.

2 – Draw Something

A sure test of your drawing ability, and creator of numerous examples of baffling artworks and interpretations of objects, Draw Something has become one of the top iPhone apps of the last few months. Users exchange drawings with each other, and have to work out what the other is drawing. Harder than it sounds.

3 – Instagram

Recently acquired by Facebook for $1 billion dollars, the photo sharing app is ideal for sharing photos and applying filters to them. Set to be a key part in Facebook’s movement across different platforms in the next year.

4 – Facebook

Hard to get away from as a must have iPhone app, Facebook’s addictiveness becomes even more heightened when transported onto the iPhone. From checking in at different locations to makes notes and viewing photographs, Facebook on the go is indispensable.

5 – TED Talks

A less mainstream choice, TED Talks represents a number of short video presentations that highlights recent innovations in arts and sciences. Entertaining and perfect for the commute to work or school, TED Talks’ content is wide ranging but always fascinating.

6 – Google Earth

The Google Earth app for the iPhone is ideal if you need to navigate a particularly tricky area. Its Street View function means that you have little excuse for not matching up your route to established maps. A lifesaver is you are in a rush to get somewhere.

7 - Commit

A useful way to organise your daily schedule, Commit provides an easy to use interface that can sort through your meetings, appointments and diary. Perhaps the best app of its kind for handling your daily routine.

8 – Twitter

Being able to tweet on the go is one of the major advantages of having the app for the iPhone. Able to provide you with a constant stream of information and contracts, it can get very addictive. Used in moderation, Twitter for the iPhone is essential for keeping track of things.

9 – Dropbox

One of the leading cloud storage apps, Dropbox allows you to access online files from different devices. With high storage levels, Dropbox makes it easy to retrieve files and make adjustments to documents without leaving your iPhone.

10 – Skype

Recently improved, and ideal for fast connections, Skype video calls add extra depth to iPhone conversations.

With the number of cellular phone networks choosing to offer 4G service, it is no surprise that more and more companies are choosing to offer 4G capable phones. Now when you walk into a cellular store, you will have a handful of choices instead of just one or two. With all of these 4G phones to choose from, how do you know which one you should pick? Shopping for 4G mobile phones does not have to be overwhelming. You just need to consider a few different things in order to narrow down your options to the right mobile device for you. Here are a few steps that will help you determine the right cellular device.

Choosing a Carrier

Start by determining which carrier you will be using. This may depend on coverage maps and what carrier will actually offer 4G coverage in your area. You may be limited to who you can choose for service, but you may have more than one option. However, this will be your first step because you will need to know which phones will be available to you through that carrier.

After you have narrowed down your options to just one carrier and the phones they offer, you can move on to choosing from 4G phones that you believe will be right for you. The best way to do this is to consider what is most important to you in a cellular phone.

Is your primary concern the call quality and the basics of the phone?

Do you plan on watching movies or playing games on the device?

Do you prefer to have full access to the Internet?

All of these questions will be important to the choices you make. Some mobile devices are designed specifically to provide HD, high quality screens so that the user can watch movies and enjoy other dynamic content.

Making a Decision

The best thing that you can do to choose from the right 4G phones will be to make a list of what you would consider priority as far as function and capability. With this list, you should be able to eliminate any phones that do not offer what you have included in your must list. After that, you can simply choose a phone that looks and feels like you would prefer.

Choosing from 4G phones is not such an easy decision anymore with all of the options that you have. However, you can make the decision more easily if you take the time to consider your carrier, the important features, and your own personal preference.

Much has been said in the news recently about the susceptibility of Apple Macs to viruses. Whereas it has been long thought they were more or less impervious, a new Trojan Flashback is said to have infected around 600,000 machines already, and the figure is still rising. This virus manifests itself as either an update to Adobe Flash, or another update that directs the user to JavaScript.

What The Virus Does

Once installed, the virus hijacks online advertisement links. Each time a user clicks on an ad they have encountered as part of a Google search, Google get a small amount of revenue from the company who own the advertisement. This allows Google to carry on providing a free service to users whilst still remaining a profitable business.

However, this new virus is said to be costing them up to USD$10,000 per day, as users are being re-directed to sites chosen by the hackers and the revenue is going straight into their pockets.

Apple have now released a software tool to get rid of this malware, which is available as a free download.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFOXrgHryck

This one virus has aroused the question as to the Macs safety and protection from viruses like never before. Yet it must be remembered that Apple have had a reputation for security from viruses for a long time for good reason. The fact is that, despite this one bug, PCs are hundreds of times more likely to be a victim to viruses.

Mac Security

There are many reasons for this. One is that the operating systems on the Mac use individual preference files, making it far less likely to be the target of any malware designed to take advantage of global updates on Windows. The way Mac systems operate make it that much harder for any savvy computer user to accidentally download a virus, as there is always an element of human control. A lot of Windows updates simply happen automatically behind the scenes, allowing hackers to sneak software in through the back door, as it were.

Click for Larger Size

Most viruses that appear on Macs are allowed to infect the machines purely because the user has downloaded illegal or counterfeit software. Careful usage of internet tools and performing background checks before downloading can keep your Mac clean and healthy. However, hackers are beginning to develop ways of corrupting the Macs OS, so the time has come to get some anti-virus software installed as back up. Free software is hard to find for the Mac, but check out Migenblog online office for Mac promo codes to get discount anti-virus software. No matter how unlikely it is, the truth is that if you regularly connect to the internet you are exposing your computer to viruses, whatever machine you have.

If you have an Xbox and you’re not connected to Xbox Live then you are greatly missing out. Many people will tell you how playing games on Xbox Live is completely different from playing games against the computer and how it can really transform the experience.

That’s not all Xbox Live is good for though – and if you plug your Xbox into the net then you’ll also be able to download some excellent games very cheaply and play them straight off of your hard drive. Here we will look at some of the best games available on the arcade store.

Sonic 4: Episode 1

The Sonic games have well and truly stood the test of time and are great fun for anyone who loves hurtling at high speeds and pulling off acrobatics. The music is jolly and the colors are bright and it comes with a load of nostalgia thrown in for good measure.

The central concept here is basically ‘the old Sonic games + new graphics’ and this works really well to give you the same action many people are missing in 2D along with some glorious HD reimaginings.

Sonic Adventure

While we’re talking about Sonic you can also use Xbox Live to download Sonic Adventure – Sonic’s first and certainly best 3D outing which has a lot of high octane thrills and spills and which still has pretty good graphics even today. It’s pretty cheap, so why not?

ReZ

And if you want something else from the Dreamcast, then look no further than ReZ – a very trippy and surreal experience that has you moving through wireframe 3D worlds to an electronic soundtrack while shooting enemies on rails. It’s weird and short, but it’s pretty hypnotic and worth a try for something completely different.

Super Meat Boy

Super Meat Boy is one of the best and most original indie games out there and is also highly addictive and hard without being frustrating. You play as the titular Super Meat Boy and it’s your job to leap between saws and lava pits while doing impressive wall-jump combos and outrunning missiles in a bid to save Bandage Girl in a series of bite-sized levels. The control is absolutely spot on making this perfect for people who love skill-based games, and it harkens back perfectly to the days of games like Super Mario.

Limbo

Limbo is an incredibly unique game that sees you controlling a little boy lost in what must presumably be limbo. To survive you have to solve puzzles in usual 2D platforming fair, but it’s a lot more interesting than that thanks to the eerie atmosphere and black and white graphics which create a gaming experience unlike anything you’re likely to have encountered before. It’s the encounters you have with the huge spider and other lost people that make it feel truly original though and it’s remarkable what can be conveyed without any dialogue – or even any music to speak of.

Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet

This is another game that boasts unique 2D graphics and great 2D gameplay, but this time with a more two R-Type style gameplay and more Super Metroid style level layout (in that you unlock more of the level as the game goes on). It’s a tad short, but it’s another game that will leave you with your mouth on the floor at the originality so it’s certainly worth a download.

Once you have become an expert in internet marketing the world is your oyster. You can take your skills from one realm and use them in another. For example, knowing more and more about how to rise up the natural search engine rankings will help you in pay-per-click advertising, and vice-versa. You can use your knowledge from one campaign in further campaigns in different niches. Some elements of marketing are applicable to all areas of online and offline marketing.Where things are different with Google Adwords is the amount of information available to us regarding our advertising and our competitors. Television and newspaper advertising can only give us so much information regarding who is seeing our advertisements, what is working and what isn’t. Google Adwords contains a bewildering amount of information regarding what exactly is happening with our online marketing. It is perhaps the best way to get a good overview of marketing attempts which you can use in other areas.

Using Google Adwords to test out new advertising can give you an instant idea of what will work and what won’t. You can spend a relatively small amount of money on a campaign, and it will give you a wealth of statistics and scores about how that advertising has fared. Taking this information you can hone your advertising till you use only the best advertising that reaps the biggest rewards for your particular business.

You can even take this further and use Adwords to test out new products on a small scale before throwing out a large amount of money on the products themselves or a large advertising campaign. Another way in which Adwords can be used is to test out a number of different landing pages on your site to see which is the most profitable.

Becoming an expert in Adwords is not simply becoming an expert in pay-per-click advertising, it is a powerful tool you can use to completely change and revamp your online (and even offline) advertising. All you need to do is learn how to read the statistics and change your advertising in a systematic and measurable way, allowing you to trace where exactly things are going right and where they are going wrong. In no time, you will be using Google Adwords to improve every area of your business without having to waste a large amount of money on massive advertising campaigns that don’t really go anywhere.

Well, this Blackberry’s development trend is not just restricted toNorth America– the nation of its source or in the Combined Declares. Even in Native Indian, more than 80% of high level Native Indian marketers, Bollywood stars, cricketers and political figures are found using a Rim Mobile phone. One of the greatest reasons for the reputation of Rim cell phones in Native Indian is the point that the Rim prices in Native Indian is not as beyond reach as that of Apple company items while it provides a certain exclusivity as is not too low to be used by the individuals and service personnel. Mobile providers too, are trying to woo its clients with TV advertisements devoted to Rim smart-phones like the Rim Young children TVC from Combined kingdom Native Indian and Rim Messenger TVC by Airtel.

Here in this publish, we’ll take you through the in-and-out of Rim smart-phones, the USPs of Rim, its professionals & negatives and brief evaluation of few blackberry cellular phones that would fit best in your wallet and funds.

The Rim Benefits:

Best texting system:

Either it be information, information or announcements from your social networking sites like Tweets or Myspace, blackberry forces all your data onto your cell-phone within a few moments. On top of it, Rim has something known as ‘unified inbox’ that accumulates all your information, information and other announcements in a single mail. Which is the USP of blackberry cellular phones thus far.

QWERTY keyboard:

Believe it or not, blackberry cellular phones have got the best ‘hardware’ QWERTY key pad making it easy for email and texting junkies to quickly connect with their fellow.

Blackberry Messenger (BBM):

Wanna be touching your clients, friends or the unique one throughout the clock? Rim messenger is something that should help you out. Areas of expertise of BBM over any other im like Gtalk or AIM is, you can track when did the individual of the concept obtained and read your concept. Sensible, is certainly not it? Though several other cross-platform im applications like WhatsApp has popped up in the marketplace, none of them have handled to defeat the reputation and convenience of use, of Rim messenger yet!

True Multi-tasking:

Unlike several other popular cellular OS, Rim smart-phones have the functionality of real multi-tasking. Indicates that you can quickly change between applications without having to close and start over once again!

Disadvantages of Rim Phones:

So far we know about the good stuff of due a blackberry, allows now talk about some of its cons:

Fixed per month Rim charges:

I do acknowledge that you are going to have to pay a set per month charge for opening information and using Internet on your cell cell-phone. But, if you are using blackberry services then you are going to have to utilize unique blackberry plans that cost 4-5x more than what you are going to have to pay for a regular GPRS/EDGE service. Hence, we would recommend you go for Rim program only if you are really a texting addict and wish to keep in contact and get your information encouraged to your Rim mail within seconds.

Lack of Multimedia system Capabilities:

If you love using your cell-phone as a multi-media program and often need it for doing offers, documenting video clips or enjoying the songs, then Rim will probably dissatisfy you a bit, as it does not have functions to be used as a solid multi-media program and also does not have as many game titles as iOS and Android!

Low Quality Camera:

There are gadgets from companies like New samsung and HTC with digital cams including 8 MP to 12 MP but amazingly the best photographic camera on any Rim program yet is a simple 5 MP photographic camera.

Brief Best parts of Available Rim Models:

Impressed with the benefits of Rim over its disadvantages? Wooed enough to buy a blackberry device? Here you go. We are list some of the gadgets that should fix your objective to keep in contact 24X7:

Blackberry Curve:

Blackberry Contour are the primary basic blackberry cellular phones and comes in 3 GSM designs with slight editions among each of them.

This is the entry-level blackberry mobile phone available currently, with primary functions such as a 2 MP Camera, devoted amount rocking chairs and multi-media important factors for moving songs back and forth. The cell-phone does not have 3G functions and reasonably costing Rs. 8700. Should be best fit for you if you are looking for a cheap blackberry program and do not click lots of photos. You’ll also have to bargain with 3G functions in this cell-phone.

Curve 9330:

Successor to 8520 with slight enhancement in performance and comes with 3G support. Cost at Rs. 14990.

Curve 9360:

Latest entrant in the Rim Contour family and has functions at par to the Rim Strong. Enhanced photographic camera of 5 MP, top quality display, newest Rim OS, etc. Generally the specifications of Rim Contour 9360 are similar to that of Rim Strong 2 9870 but the major difference is the laptop key pad build. Contour designs have important factors divided from each other whereas bold designs have important factors that overlap one above another.

Blackberry Bold:

‘Bold’ range of items from Rim is usually regarded to be a little bit on the higher side as in comparison to Contour. And, as previously mentioned, they are mainly different from Contour variety in regard of their key pad and looks. There are currently 2 designs of Strong that are created and promoted by RIM – Strong 9780 and Strong 9900, also known as as Strong 3 & Strong 4 respectively.

As you can think, Rim Strong 4 is the heir of Strong 3 and has several improved functions like contact functions, larger display size, newest Rim V 7.0 OS. Strong 3 & 4 are costing Rs. 21,000 and Rs. 30,600 respectively.

Torch is again the great end Rim cell-phone with moving form aspect. They come in 3 editions or designs namely Flash light 9800, 9810 & 9860 with little editions and improvements. Price of Rim Flash light designs variety from Rs. 24,000 to Rs. 30,000 roughly.
